Welcome to the NICU mama’s club. A club that you never thought you’d be a part of and a club you never you knew you needed, until now. I know how difficult this time must be for you. In August of 2020, I too became a member of this coveted club when our daughter Olivia came at 24 weeks and 6 days. We spent 100 days in the NICU and when Olivia came home, she was on oxygen for the following 8 months. I felt so blessed throughout our NICU stay to be surrounded by other women who knew exactly what it’s like to be in my shoes. The support I felt was truly life-giving in such a time of chaos. When you’re in the thick of it, sometimes you wonder how you continue to trudge through each day. But you do. Because you are strong. And your baby needs you. Being a mama can be tough. But just remember, in the eyes of your child, no-one does it better than you. Wrapping you and your baby in one giant hug. You’ve got this!
