FAQs: Haumea Bootcamp Fitness Classes

  • What is a bootcamp style workout?

Our Haumea Bootcamp classes are interval training workouts utilizing minimal additional equipment. The goal of the bootcamp workout is to build strength, cardiovascular health and endurance through a FUN and functional workout.

You can expect to do intervals of strength and cardio training in this 45 minute workout at Haumea.

We offer options for every level of fitness, so don’t be scared to give this class a try. YOU can do it.

  • Do boot camp workouts build muscle?

YES! Building muscle doesn’t mean getting “bulky” muscle is essential for the healthy functioning of our bodies. The more you build stronger and supple muscles, the more you will feel energized and good in your body.

In our bootcamp class you will do strength training for all major parts of your body.

  • What are the benefits of a boot camp fitness workout?

The Department of Health and Human Services recommends that healthy adults incorporate the following movement into their weeks:

    • Adults should move more and sit less throughout the day. Some physical activity is better than none. Adults who sit less and do any amount of moderate to vigorous physical activity gain some health benefits.

    • For substantial health benefits, adults should do at least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) to 300 minutes (5 hours) a week of moderate-intensity, or 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) to 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) a week of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity, or an equivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity aerobic activity. Preferably, aerobic activity should be spread throughout the week.

    • Additional health benefits are gained by engaging in physical activity beyond the equivalent of 300 minutes (5 hours) of moderate-intensity physical activity a week.

    • Adults should also do muscle-strengthening activities of moderate or greater intensity and that involve all major muscle groups.

Bootcamp is a great way to get vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity and the recommended strength training that involves all the major muscle groups.

  • Are fitness bootcamps worth it?

YES! Fitness bootcamps are an awesome way to feel healthy and GOOD in your body.

You will get stronger. Your cardiovascular fitness will improve.

    You will reduce stress.
